These installers are here as I speak; they showed up with no two-wheel dolly to move furniture! I had to use ours!

They didn't put furniture on sliders or moving quilts, so they scraped my vinyl flooring in my hallway!

I'm gonna have to insist on your repair to any damages. I never received a call, text, or even an email before they arrived; very unprofessional!

Worst experience I’ve ever had with any company!

Updated by user Aug 28, 2025

No, I will just do it myself!

Original review Aug 11, 2025
My wife and I hired 50 Floors for our home flooring project because you advertised one day installation and that your workers move furniture and things. I could have laid the flooring myself but have a broken back which would have made it difficult for me.

So we thought 50 Floors would work for us. We were so very wrong! Our nightmare started off with Mathew the salesman/GM of the Jacksonville Florida location. He came to our home did his pitch telling us we dont need LVP just get the regular laminate its cheaper.

We picked out the flooring we wanted and date of installation and signed paperwork for financing. Mathew said that Margret the scheduler would call us to confirm the installation date. He took all of his measurements of our upstairs floor and our staircase. Then he left like he had to be somewhere.

Did review the order to make sure he got it right. A couple days later I got the confirmation email for our order and he put the wrong flooring on the order. So I reached out to him through text messages explaining that the order was wrong. Got no reply.

Then the following day he called and said he would talk to the warehouse and Margret to make sure the correct flooring was ordered. Then the next day Margret calls me to verify the installation date. While I had her on the phone I asked her what was the flooring that was on our order she said well I see they had tuscan Rowe but change it to Classic skliner which is what we chose. So we verified the the dates and I told her that they could drop the flooring off a couple days before so the flooring could get acclimated to our home temperature.

She said ok Ill let them know. That never happened. Later that week I get a call from Margret asking if we wanted to move our installation date up a day. I thought great and said sure that would be great.

Then the day before the new installation date Margret calls and tells me that the wrong flooring was ordered even after all the conversations with her and Mathew. She tells me that they have a job coming up next month for a home that is getting the same flooring as what we chose and that they could just take the flooring from that job and use it for ours but shell have to check and make sure they have enough from that job to do our flooring. She calls me back about 20 minutes later and says that they are short about 5 boxes of flooring for that job to do mine. She said she would see if their Tampa location had any they could get.

She called me back again and said they had it and they would get it.During this whole nightmare of a process I was reaching out to Mathew my so called sales representative with no reply what so ever and to this day have still not heard from him. So now I get a text message saying that my installation window went from 8:00am to 11:00am to 8:00am to 8:00pm. The installers show up around 11:00am and come inside and look at the upstairs to see what they were working with. So to make this process easier and quicker for them my wife, myself and my neighbor moved everything except for a couple mattresses and box springs downstairs.

Then one of the installers came to me and said that they didnt have enough kick plates for the staircase and quarter round for the rest of the job and that he would have to go to Homedepot to get it. They started working on pulling up the carpet and started laying the floors that were just stacked up in front of our garage outside in 95 plus degree weather. We keep our home temperature around 72 to 74 degrees and as I mentioned earlier I told them they could drop it off days ahead of time. No installers thought it would make more sense to just show up with it the same day and start installing it.

So to keep the flooring temperature similar to outside they decided to open our windows upstairs and not say anything to us about it so we could adjust our thermostat or even turn the A/C off . So half way through the day the installer foreman comes to me and says they dont have enough of the stair caps for three of the steps and that they would need to order them and come back. They said they should be in on the following Tuesday and that they would be back on Wednesday to finish up the job. So now I have three unfinished steps with ruff plywood showing.

The following day my wife is coming do an the stairs and gets snagged on this plywood and almost falls down the stairs. So Tuesday comes and I call the foreman and he says they are still not in. So I said ok and thanks for letting me know. I waited a couple more days and call him back again and again he says theyre still not in. So for a week now my wife and I are sleeping on our couch because everything is still downstairs in our living room so the floors could get acclimated to the inside temperature before we started moving things back.

And through all of this nightmare Im reaching out to Mathew and every phone number I can find for 50Floors and no response no one calls. All I get is voicemails saying someone will call me back but they dont! Then on a Friday the foreman calls and says the pieces are in so he come out and installs them. Then comes to us and tries to give us a bill for $355 and some change but cant tell us or show us what it is for.

This is the worst worst customer experience I have ever had with any company or person. I plan on sharing this nightmare with as many people and websites and news media as I possibly can to warn people away from 50 Floors!

Perfect installation and what they said would take place did!

stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full

I very rarely ever write about any experience with a contractor, good or bad. So with that, let me say upfront, I have been burned a few times by shady contractors, so they don't do anything in our home unless we can watch and be sure it's what we asked for.

On 8/15/2025, at our home in Richmond, Virginia, we had contracted 50 Floors to install new flooring for our kitchen. I can honestly say we both were thoroughly impressed and amazed by the speed and precision with which the installers worked. They moved everything, cleaned up, and put everything back in just a few hours, and the floor never looked so good.

This was not the first time we have dealt with 50 Floors; it certainly won't be the last time either. If we need another floor done, I want the two guys that did this one and 50 Floors to get the job done!

What a coincidence. A 5-star impeccable installation just 4 days after a customer had major issues with this company.

Maybe you can go to their post dated August 11 and share company contact information so they can get some help. Or just comment with it to your post. All the negative reviewers here that result in a 1.9/5 poor rating may be interested. Or not.

I have a feeling another glorious 5-star review is imminent.

PS. Any potential consumer do your own online research here and across multiple sites.

Poor Workmanship and will not honor Installation Warranty

stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full

50 floors workmanship, business practices, and communication are so incredibly terrible that I would advise any homeowner to run FAR away rather than doing business with 50 Floor. I am sharing our experience to warn fellow homeowners.

Their national manager- Dana Mason as well as the SCG branch manager- Broc Stanley, do not care about appearance or quality workmanship and 50 floor installation warranty is entirely worthless. They started installation in October but did not finish installation until February. Their subcontractors, SCG Surfaces Construction Group, spoke very little if any English, did not show up when they were supposed to (total no-show or several days later), had to glue down my floating floor near the stairs because they misaligned the board and had to cut it to fit rather than locking it in place, broke our bed frame when moving it (and neglected to tell us about the damage), and it was discovered that they did not abide by basic industry and manufacture installation standards when they left our concrete subfloor largely exposed with missing vapor barrier in several large areas. This allowed moisture from the concrete to destroy our new flooring in a few months time, warping and cupping the boards.

50 floor was contacted, but did not take responsibility for the damaged flooring and stated that they would not be assisting us with removal or replacement. We were forced to remove this damaged flooring ourselves, discovering large areas that were missing any vapor barrier, leaving the boards exposed to moisture from the concrete. 50 floor has yet to honor their one year workmanship guarantee and has had no explanation for a lack of barrier in place. Was it due to lack of employee training, laziness, cutting corners on cost?

They have no explanation. We have plenty of photo and video evidence of the patchy scarce pieces that were thrown down, as well as a letter from an independent contracting group that confirms the damage is due to a missing vapor barrier, and yet they have not acknowledged their mistake or committed to installing our floor properly. We are left without flooring in half of our home due to their careless installation practices, only months after paying for whole home flooring installation.

The national manager, Dana Mason, suggested that we contact our insurance to cover their damage, but our insurance has refused to cover damage that they agree is caused by poor workmanship. To say this is devastating for our family and our home is an understatement.

Photos included of vapor barrier that is meant to be wall to wall and overlapping, glued in and cracking floor plank, and broken furniture.

Fifty Floor - Not what they show on Talk of the Town Extra!
Updated by user Aug 21, 2018

I am very happy to report that the Assistant General Manager at 50 Floor (Eric Tetreault) responded quickly to my complaint and together we came to a mutually satisfactory resolution! I was pleased that the company was so expeditious in addressing my concerns and moved promptly to fix the problem.

My credit card was credited with an agreed upon amount to help cover the cost of a new mattress. Mr. Tetreault was courteous, listened intently, and understood my situation. So many other companies try to minimize customers' complaints.

In the future I will recommend 50 Floor to the HOA and other residents at my Townhouse development.

The quality of their work and flooring materials were exceptional. Thank you to the upper management in their superior customer relations and response!

Original review Aug 16, 2018

First - they are NOT the "low price leader" in flooring. I compared them to two other companies and they were all the same!

Myers was within $40. Second- the well dressed clean cut installers you see moving furniture and cleaning up so meticulously are NOT what comes to your door. I had three immigrant workers from a third party firm-only one spoke any English and he did not fully understand the importance of how NOT to mishandle a Tempurpedic mattress in their moving of the furniture. Third- these three workers were in a very big rush to leave my job and get to their next-WITHOUT doing a proper walk through with the Certificate of Completion Form and Verification of Damage forms!

They only allowed me the time to sign and pay the balance. While the carpet was properly installed the clean up and moving back of furniture was sloppy. I had to get them to move heavy pieces back to their original places. Clean up and vacuuming was cursory at best.

Fourth-after their departure I went to remove linens from the bed for washing and that is when I discovered the misaligned layers of the Tempurpedic mattress. I did not see this before because the coverlet was thrown over the end of the bed. Tempurpedics are designed to last 20+ years and I had intended on keeping this another 10. The layers are fitted together inside a permanent covering and cannot be realigned if the mattress is mishandled.

I cannot put on a fitted sheet or position the mattress properly on the bed frame now. When I called Tempurpedic they explained that they could not fix this and I would have to buy a new mattress. ($2,200). I called customer service at 50 Floor to register these complaints and spoke with Tammy Wilson.

Ms. Wilson. I was aware that I was on the third day of the 3 days to make a complaint. Ms.

Wilson listened to my account of my job and she was very rude and abrupt. I also sent photos of the misaligned shifted layers of the mattress. Right away she said "we are not going to buy you a new mattress". She hardly apologized and did admit that 50 Floor has had service problems due to having to use third party sub contractors to install.

Ms. Wilson called me back after reviewing the complaint -presumably with higher management. She again offered no resolution or compensation-instead she waxed on and on about HER problems and the company's struggles with labor!! She was obviously trying to garner sympathy from ME when I was the customer who had been mistreated.

I had to end the call. I have had to bear the expense of a new mattress. When I showed the Tempurpedic salesperson pictures of what was done he asserted that the mattress had definitely been mishandled. My insurance agent tried to intervene by calling the owner/General Manager but got NO answer and NO voicemail.

I have also tried to reach Mr. Ron Luchetti -GM- but did not get through. (The telephone number given is the same as Ms. Wilson's but with a different extension.) Essentially I am being ignored.

I had to bear the cost of a new mattress.

I also filed a complaint with the Better Business Bureau. I will steer people away from 50 Floor whenever possible.

Scheduled day for 05/02/2025, I get a call from the scheduling department (1 hour); they will reschedule me for the next day. To make a long story short, I have been scheduled 4 times.

Customer service just lies, after lies. They never answer the phone. My floors were installed on Thursday. The installer's name, Roger, did an excellent job.

Roger was the only one who was true with me. Roger explained what his team would be doing and asked if I had any questions. The installation service was very professional. The scheduling service for the 50th floors is really bad.

I had a friend compliment me on the floors.

I told her the installer and his team are good, but you may have problems with customer service.

Thank you

Go to Home Depot. You will actually get not only better customer service but a lot better deal.

50 floor up charges their product tremendously. Their Memorial Day promotion for half off and free install was more than Home Depot at full price. To be honest it was almost double the full price of Home Depot.

If that is half off, then something isn’t right. We have reached out to them numerous times and get the run around every time.

Original review May 23, 2025
I can not believe the level of disappointment. Just to let you know, that I have reached out to them twice before leaving this review.

We contacted them about the current promotion that they were having for Memorial Day. Last week we had them out to our house to measure and get a quote. The current deal was 50% off and free installation. Their quote was astronomically high (like 200% mark up).

I always do my research and know the products and rough cost of things to have a general idea of what we would be paying. When we were told that it was going to cost $8,000.00 we quickly asked is that with the current promotion? Their sales rep said yes. So apparently if we were paying full price then, it would cost us nearly $16,000.00 plus install?

He said that it would. That amount for a 30oz medium grade carpet would cost over $11 a square foot. I asked to make sure that he didnt add on 50% as the cost didnt add up right. He stated, well we calculate it a little differently.

This was the first red flag. We told him that we appreciate his time and that we were going to get our carpet elsewhere. He stated, well let me call my manager and see if he can work out a better deal. Not even 2 minutes go by and he said that he could do it for $5,500 (second red flag that they could drop it that quick when they were supposedly already selling it for half off.).

The third red flag was when he said that the deal was only good while he was onsite, however he would extend it to 24 hrs. After he left we reached out to the company again to make sure that he had ran the numbers correctly. A few days later we got a phone call from them and they did state that they were sorry that we werent going to go with them and how could they improve. Never was there a mention about the price or anything.

However by this point, I wouldnt want to do any business with a company that is extremely shady. My wife and I both wondered how many elderly people have been scammed this bad by them. Its so sad, but felt that everyone should do their research and be careful prior to doing any business with this company.
We have gotten another quote from another company that we will be going with. Their quote didnt have a sale going on, but still beat 50 floors quote with the supposed 50% off and even the managers deal.
Update: Per their request, I have reached back out to them again.

I was told that all of their review personnel were busy and that they would call me back and 6 hours later, I still havent gotten a call back. I then realized that their response to this review was just a generic response (another red flag). Looking at their response, they said that there was other costs that were associated with the install. So I guess when you state that you are giving free installation, that you really arent since there is other fees?

Once again another red flag. I would hate to imagine what their warranty would be if they arent willing to answer negative reviews.

Terriable workmanship!!

Company subcontracts work out to people that do not understand ENGLISH. Nor do they take any pride in their workmanship! They laid the floor in kitchen with lines parallel then in laundry room laid it horizontal.

They did not lay floor under appliances when we paid for it. They also cut the floor too short that it is flipping out from under threshold.. Also, did not install threshold correctly! It.

Has been 3 yrs and the carpet has wrinkles in it and also you can see where carpet meets at the seems.

They also weren't experience enough to install carpet on a step! They had to send another subcontracted to redo it.

That was a lot of money wasted to have to turn around and do it again

We've been trying for months now to get our issues resolved with 50 Floor customer support Stephanie. We have a piece of carpet that still needs to be installed, because the team that did the carpet portion did not finish their work, saying this would need to be done AFTER the hardwood is installed on the main floor. See the attached photo below.

On the other hand, the team that did hardwood work said they are not authorized to do the carpet. My question is, who is supposed to make sure the work is completed by 100% as per the agreement?

We also asked to provide some extra boards for us (which we agree to pay full price for) to repair the hole in the floor from the outlet that we originally wanted to be removed, but workers just cut *** around it and left it sticking out (second photo).

We understand that the company does not want to do the repairs, but there is no reason not to allow the customers to purchase extra boards for needed (future) repairs. They left plenty of extra carpet but would not give us a single extra floor board, which is ridiculous and is unheard of. We are stuck with the floor that the company refuses to repair and would not let us repair ourselves.

We paid a lot of money for this floor and expect the company to stand behind their work. Please advise who I should contact because our project coordinator Stephanie is not responding to our calls or texts anymore.

I have received absolutely No customer service from 50 floor

Original review Mar 07, 2024

I paid 13 thousand dollars for flooring for my condo. I have endured two months of installers installing and then ripping up my flooring twice because 50 floor says the flooring itself is defective.

I have paid for the flooring in full, yet I am living with defective flooring that is not even fully installed. Plastic vapor barrier is visible around baseboards where they did not even finish.

50 floor says they have to wait for mill to acknowledge the defective flooring before they will replace. This company is the absolute worst!

This starts with our sales associates meeting customers in their own home to provide flooring options tailored to that individual customer’s needs all the way to calling after installation to ensure our customers were 100% satisfied with their experience. A family owned business, 50 Floor is "home grown" in Atlanta, Georgia and committed to maintaining a local business feel in all locations across the nation. We achieve this by maintaining a "small company culture" and keeping in touch with the individual communities where we do business.
